Title: Frooty Tooty Juice Bar/Joosy’s Place

Focus of Practice:

Ethos building. Enterprise project by 2 consecutive P7 classes. Impacted on whole school, major link with Health Promoting School.

Short Description:

Children discussed, designed debated created the notion of a juice bar in the dining hall. This involved meeting a range of personnel from the world of work. The children were actively involved in negotiations and decision making.

In year 2 the new P7 used the same range of skills to change our packed lunch area into a more attractive Joosy’s place

Why Was It Successful:

All P7 pupils involved in the costing/ designing process – have ownership.
Impact on whole school ( Healthy Eating)
Joosy’s place now used as a social gathering place after school once a week (café style) where children will use our (healthy ) tuck shop and take time out which will hopefully improve pupil relationships.
