Title: Whole School Golden Time – A review of current practice

Focus of Practice

School Ethos – Positive Behaviour Management

Short Description

Golden Time had lost its impact especially for those children who continuously lose part of their time each week. In order to raise the profile, organised treats were arranged to reward those who consistently behave in a positive manner. Those who did not participate in the treat, were involved in discussions and activities which promoted positive behaviour.

Why Was It Successful?

It gives the children who continuously lose Golden Time the opportunity to think about the impact their own behaviour has on self. It also makes the children more determined to improve their behaviour in order to get the reward of the special treat.
